Yindi Jiang received his Bachelor’s degree in Biological Sciences from Fudan University in 2008 and his Ph.D. degree in Genetics and Development from the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in 2014, where he investigated the transcriptional regulation of adult neural stem cell fate decisions in the Hsieh laboratory. Dr. Jiang’s postdoctoral research in the laboratory of Prof. Emily Balskus at Harvard University focused on understanding the chemistry and biology of human gut microbial-derived natural products. He then moved to Germany to join the laboratory of Prof. Sarah O’Connor at the Max Planck Institute for Chemical Ecology. His research in the O’Connor lab involves elucidating and characterizing biosynthetic pathways for the production of monoterpene indole alkaloids in medicinal plants. In September 2021, Dr. Jiang joined the Center for Synthetic Biochemistry at the Shenzhen Institute of Synthetic Biology as an Assistant Professor, where he continues his exploration of the chemical biology of natural products.
